Print-Ready PDF’s with Instant PDF
Earlier today we conducted a very interesting interview with a designer, which we will post tomorrow or in any event soon. He swore by FlightCheck throughout the graphic design process and always delivers to the printers an Enfocus Certified PDF- using some of the Enfocus kit to produce standards based PDFs which his customers (record labels) require… more on that story later, but it fits in with this news below nicely… (And a few simple questions for YOU at the end!)
Enfocus has just announced a brand new, exciting version of it’s PDF creation tool; Instant PDF 08. It promises faster, easier and better press-ready PDF’s than ever before. And that is saying a lot, for PDF creation - that is rock solid printable PDF’s - is often hard to come by.
They have also added some all important preflight functions to help catch and fix some of the most common errors. As they state:
“Also new in Instant PDF 08,” adds Mr. van Driessche, “are new preflight checks that correct even more problems during PDF creation, including automatic detection of printer marks, setting the page boxes in the generated PDF file accordingly. In addition, we have embedded the open-source Little CMS color management engine to ensure color consistent conversions for both Mac and Windows. These additions align with our goal of making desktop PDF generation faster, easier and more accurate than ever before, removing stress and headaches for both the designer and the printer.”

Which leads me to my questions today for you (which you can leave the answers to in the comment section below):
- Do you create PDF’s?
- If yes to above; How do you create them (which software, tools, etc)?
- Lastly- do you want to tell us your preflight and PDF creation or workflow story?
We valued your feedback and look forward to hearing from you!
