Actun Tunichil Muknal Caves - A Markzware Adventure

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Here we see Patrick Marchese hiking the jungles of Belize into a river filled cave to an ancient Mayan ceremonial area called Actun Tunichil Muknal or ATM caves for short. The underworld was very important for the Mayans (9 levels of the underworld and 13 levels of heaven). Watch Pat in action here:

Belize & Guatemala

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

From the magestic mangrove lined tropical shores of Caye Caulker island to vine covered jungle trails leading to ancient Mayan under-world, river filled caves, this adventure in Belize and Guatemala was one we would recommend. The Mayan ruins in Tikal and the entire Mayan culture is extremely interesting, not to mention swimming with sharks, 4-wheeling and getting detained at the border! Caye Caulker island, Belize

Saturday, July 12th, 2008

File this under a Markzware Adventure- our first day on Caye Caulker island in the small Central American country, Belizé. It is truly a lovely location along the Caribbean sea with delicious fresh lobsters, palm tress and friendly locals- not to mention the worlds second largest barrier reef. You can view some of the pictures here or by clicking on the image below (Mayan ruins, jungle walks and snorkeling galleries to follow soon!)…

Preflight, inflight and postflight - Tropic Air

Monday, July 7th, 2008

One nice thing about flying in small countries is that you often get a close-up view on many of the procedures. Heading back from Caye Caulker to Belizé City on a 10-minute Tropic Air flight was a real treat both in terms of seeing the preflight and flight routines and in not having to take the cramped, long-lasting ferry boat back. See picture gallery of this flight here.

Naturally, this just re-enforces the need for quality control checks throughout the workflow- both in aviation as well as print-media. Preflight, Postflight and all sorts of other flights are certainly a must for top-notch PDF’s or print-jobs. Design to land safely- create to print properly!

Snorkeling around Caye Caulker, Belizé - sharks, rays, turtles & more!

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

People at Markzware work hard, but naturally they also like their free time. Hence we have added a new category to this blog called, “Markzware Adventures!”

Here we see some of the Markzwarians enjoying a little snorkeling with sharks, rays, turtles and vast numbers of tropical fish in Belizé! This small Central American country is a member of the British Commonwealth and the official language is English, believe it or not! It also lies within the Caribbean Sea and has the world’s second largest barrier reef, which makes for lovely island life and of course great diving and snorkeling. Heck, as you will see in the movie below, as soon as the camera goes underwater, you see a large Grouper fish! Enjoy the film…
