Fix Bad InDesign Files!

Bad InDesign or corrupt InDesign documents are becoming more and more a fact of life (thankfully far less than QuarkXPress had in earlier days, but still enough to be a headache, especially when you do not have a back-up and a month’s worth of work relies on how to recover InDesign from font problems.

Whether InDesign crashes on open or gives you a worrisome InDesign error message (like the “InDesign.exe has encountered a problem” message below), the effect is the same – HELP ME!

Fix Bad InDesign Files!
Markzware, is well known for its MarkzTools Quark XTension and for its InDesign conversion tools, such as the ever-popular Q2ID Quark to InDesign plugin.     About two weeks ago InDesign CS4 crashed from an unknown error taking along with it one of the 55 page travel book I was working on. No back-ups or other files existed. After reading every single article about corrupt InDesign files and how rare it happens I thought I was a goner and that I had to start the book again from scratch. I read the article here but I still couldn’t solve the problem since it was a InDesign CS4 file. That’s when I decided to contact the Markzware guys. I quickly wrote and email explaining what my problem was and half an hour later it was answered with instructions on how to upload the file for fixing. I uploaded the file and 1 day later I receive the best news I’ve heard in a long time “We were able to fix your file”. I received the file and indeed it was fixed. Pfiuuuuu, and I thought I was a goner. I would like to sincerely thank the Markzware team for fixing my file.

    We have got a problem with a adove inDesign problem.

    How could I send you this file about 170 MByte that you fix the problem. Costs about 100 USD would be okay.

    Hi,

    I have a Indesign document that is damaged/crashed. It is made in CS3. Is it possible to fix the document with the solution here above? How do I install of download Id2Q?

    I have a corrupt Indesign CS4 file that opens then crashes once I go to export or save as.

    Could you resave in Quark for me.

    The file is 20mb is size.
