Global Warming; Outsourcing Print-Work and the Double-Standard

Printers face threats not only from a bad economy but also misguided political policy

Print jobs are flying out the door to China and other far-east print-shops, for print-work to be used locally in North America or Europe. We have responsibilities to protect our ecosystems by keeping green. FlightCheck can help printers to keep green by avoiding re-prints, thereby using less dangerous chemicals and inks.

Why is there a double-standard when it comes to outsourcing and the environment or the green movement? The host government aside in these outsourcing nations, how does our US government (any “western” government really) allow print outsourcing to go on at all, especially in light of these environmental effects? On that note, we read:

How 16 ships create as much pollution as all the cars in the world

Today award-winning science writer Fred Pearce – environmental consultant to New Scientist and author of Confessions Of An Eco Sinner – reveals that the super-ships that keep the West in everything from Christmas gifts to computers pump out killer chemicals linked to thousands of deaths because of the filthy fuel they use.

Seems really green to out-sourcing printing, now doesn’t it? One thing is for certain to help you to stop wasting inks, chemicals, plates and paper. . . That is FlightCheck. Preflight and stay truly green by avoiding printing problems before printing. Yet, this said, I cannot resist highlighting this little blunder on the global warming front, in the MSM (main stream media):

The email correspondence between dozens of key climate-change researchers around the world, including many in the U.S., paints a picture of an angry backlash by those who believe human activities are causing global warming against those who argue that the link between humans and climate change remains uncertain.

Some emails also refer to efforts by scientists who believe man is causing global warming to exclude contrary views from important scientific publications…. Continues…
