Export to Flash after FlightCheck Preflight

A preflight check before you export content is commonly associated with prepress and print. This patented output quality control method is increasingly being used for another form of output: to export InDesign and other files to Flash. It is recommended that you export to Flash after a preflight check with FlightCheck. Markzware‘s pre press software can preflight Adobe CS5 and Illustrator to thoroughly check files before you output to print or web.

Before you export to Adobe Flash, you might want to do a pre-flight check for output quality control to ensure that really WYSIWYG, when you export content. Among the things to preflight:

  • Color: Don’t think you can just take a CMYK layout and export to Flash. Flash uses the RGB color space and any spot colors – Pantone is a great example – will be shifted to the RGB space.
  • Transparency: Make sure, especially when exporting to the SWF format, that transparent objects don’t overlap any interactive objects. There is a risk that the interactivity may be lost.
  • 3D graphics: Any 3D effects or attributes used in InDesign – Text on a path – will not export to Flash or to SWF format.
  • Font Type: TLF only works with OpenType and TrueType fonts. Postscript fonts are not allowed.

Before you export to Flash, you can often check Illustrator with the same preflight check as that for other files. Markzware FlightCheck is being used by more and more graphic designers for output quality control before they export content. Now with Adobe Creative Suite 5 support, FlightCheck, the industry de-facto standard for the preflight check can also check Illustrator (even Adobe does not preflight check .AI or Illy files, but FlightCheck can) and other design layout formats whose final output may be for more than print, and for online use, as well.

See how to check Adobe Illustrator files and more for print quality. Use FlightCheck for preflighting before you export content. See how Markzware’s preflight solution works, as shown in this preflight video demonstration:

A pre-flight check ensures print quality control.

Remember, whether for print or Internet, first preflight with FlightCheck, then export to Flash!
