Convert a QuarkXPress Document to InDesign
This Adobe plugin by Markzware allows supported Quark files to be detected as files that you can open in InDesign. To convert a Quark document from versions 3.32 – 9 to Adobe InDesign:
- In Adobe InDesign, select File -> Open.
- Locate and single click on the QuarkXPress document that you want to convert.
- Select Open. (For QuarkXPress 3.X and 4.X documents, if you hold down the CONTROL-SHIFT Keys on the Mac – or the CONTROL Key on Windows – while opening a Quark file, the Q2ID plug-in will be disabled and will allow InDesign’s file conversion tool to convert Quark files.) If the QuarkXPress document contains multiple “Layouts” a dialog will be displayed, allowing you to select the layout to be converted.
- A progress bar will be displayed during the Quark file conversion. When Q2ID has finished converting the Quark file, you can edit and save the InDesign document.
