How old is Graphic Arts? 60,000 year old industry!
With Adobe CS4 gaining popularity, Markzware wonders if the world’s oldest profession could actually be what amounts to mankind’s oldest trade – the representation of graphic art! Markzware develops several Adobe CS4 compatible products to help the graphic art workflow, including Q2ID for QuarkXPress to InDesign conversion. Markzware found in New Scientist this interesting “Oldest ‘writing’ found on 60,000-year-old eggshells” article sniplet about graphic art:

Possibly a grid layout was used to help their typography, although not with Adobe InDesign CS4, to which you can convert from QuarkXPress with Markzware Q2ID. Also, could not resist inserting this cartoon image of a “graphic novel” by a caveman as well:
Q2ID converts files for graphic art jobs from QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign CS4 or CS5, which shows just how far the graphic art industry has come since the trade first started. Read the Markzware Q2ID reviews and testimonials to see how easily you can convert QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign CS4 and more.
