I had Quark 6.5 and have a bunch of files still in quark that I need to access. I now use Indesign CS5. I now longer have the Quark program. Will your product work for me to convert my old Quark files and let me open them in indesign??

Yes, exactly, Q2ID v5 will take Quark 6.5 files (Quark 8 and lower at this time and soon Quark 9 files as well) and allow you to open them in CS5 or CS4. You can buy Q2ID v5 here for 199:

We have our Quark files on a Mac, but have InDesign on PC. Do I use the Mac or PC version of Q2ID?
Also, once a document is converted up to InDesign, can it be opened by a Mac, a PC or both?

Hi Kelly, good question.
The answer is, you can use your InDesign PC with Q2ID v5 (for CS5.5, CS5 or CS5) and it can open Quark 9 and lower files from a Mac — Q2ID v5.5 offers cross-platform conversion, so you could go Mac to PC or PC to Mac, no problem.

Hello Andrea, welcome to the Mac. The only problem is, Q2ID (convert Quark to InDesign) is not hybrid, but actually two separate versions; one for Mac and one for Windows.

Q2ID v3 is no longer available Stefanie, sorry. The latest version is Q2ID v5.5 for Mac or Windows, which is an Adobe plugin InDesign CS5.5, CS5 or CS4 only.
InDesign CS3 or lower users can however use the Markzware File Conversion Service. Just email sales@markzware.com with how many files you need to convert, what is the size of each file and if know how many pages is each Quark file, in this case and we can get you an offer back.

Hi, no, Q2ID will only work in CS5.5, CS5 or CS4 – if you have CS3 InDesign, we at Markzware can do the conversion for you – $48.00. Please send me the file via WeTransfer.com and email that to sales@markzware.com and then we can do the conversion for you from Quark to InDesign CS3 – and we would then of course send the file back to you.
