Print Production Professionals: Anyone use Quark? – Quark – InDesign
Does anyone still use Quark?
Is the question asked on a print production forum
“I use the Markzware Q2ID plug-in to convert them (Quark files) to InDesign. No client has ever complained about that.” – Sam Cowan
From sales of Q2ID v5.5 the Markzware Quark to InDesign plugin for CS5.5, CS5 and CS4, it is clear that there are still users of QuarkXPress out there. The responses on the members only LinkedIn Group, Print Production Professionals, have been numerous to this thread. What is clear, is that Quark has some catching up to do, but with new management and ownership, they have a shot at it.
Yes, many are going Quark to InDesign. Here is a Q2ID users comment on this same Print Production thread:
“…I have received Quark files … over the … years, and I use the Markzware Q2ID plug-in to convert them to InDesign. No client has ever complained about that.”

With Markzware preflight, packaging and conversion products, there is no need to make a switch from QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign, you can easily use both! And with QuarkXPress 9 and the new App Studio, an easily and affordable way to get your layouts onto an Apple iPad as an app, there just may be a reason to check out Quark again.
Either way, get Q2ID v5.5 to go from Quark to InDesign today!
