ACTIVATION CODE & LICENSE ID INQUIRIES

Question: I am trying to download the latest version of Q2ID but the only link available is for the updater. How do I download the full version of Q2ID?
Answer:  If your License ID begins with 004, then this is the link: Q2ID Updaters & Installers, to download your product. If your License ID does not begin with 004, then please check your email as you should have received a link to download your product. Please use the link provided in your confirmation of purchase email to download your product.

Question: The link I received when I purchased my product online has expired. How can I re-download the installer for Q2ID?
Answer: You must use a Q2ID License (either the ID number or Q2ID Activation code) to complete installation. After your Q2ID for InDesign CS6 (Q2ID v6) purchase, you will receive a customer-unique download link. Please visit the Q2ID Updaters & Installers page to download the Q2ID v5.5 installer file & Q2ID updater.

TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

Question: Is there a trial demo I can download to try out Q2ID before I purchase?
Answer: Unfortunately, due to the fact that Q2ID is an Adobe InDesign Plug-in and not a stand-alone application, we have limited capabilities to control the file from being saved or add watermarks. To get an idea of what your QuarkXPress files will look like, please download the Q2ID Conversion Notes document or view the Q2ID Demo video to see a demonstration of how this conversion tool is used. To see a video on Q2ID Frequently Asked Questions, click here. When you are ready to purchase the full version of Q2ID, you can visit the Q2ID Store.

Question: I have a yellow box behind some text after it converted, how do I get rid of it?
Answer: The Yellow highlighted text indicates substituted Glyphs. You can turn off the highlighting by unchecking “highlight substituted Glyphs” in the Composition section of Adobe InDesign’s Preferences.

Question: I have a pink box behind some text after it converted, how do I get rid of it?
Answer: The pink highlighted text indicates substituted fonts. You can turn off the highlighting by unchecking highlight “substituted fonts” in the Composition section of InDesign’s Preferences. This is usually caused when the person creating the original Quark document used a style on a font without an actual font being present, such as a false bold.

Question: Can I convert a QuarkXPress document created on Windows into an Adobe InDesign file using the Mac version of Q2ID?
Answer: Yes, you can convert a Win QuarkXPress file into an InDesign Mac file. The InDesign CS file format is platform independent, meaning both Mac and Windows InDesign files can be opened by both the Mac and Windows versions of InDesign.

Question: What if my file will not convert, or Adobe InDesign crashes, when I try to convert a document?
Answer: Please make sure that you have the latest version of Q2ID. Please visit the Q2ID Updaters & Installers Page. If you are still having problems after updating, please fill out a Q2ID Tech Support Form and make sure to send us the problematic file(s) so we may inspect them.
