ID2Q Maximum Page Sizes

The maximum page width or height allowed by QuarkXPress is 48”.  The maximum page width or height allowed by InDesign is 216″.

If you try and convert an InDesign document created with Facing Pages that is greater than 48″ in height or width, ID2Q will cut off the page at 24″ and you will lose data. The reason being that two 24″ wide pages (i.e., the Spread width) equal the 48″ maximum page (spread) size Quark can handle.

If you try and convert an InDesign document created without Facing Pages enabled that is greater than 48″ in height or width, ID2Q will cut off the page at 48″ and you will lose data.

ID2Q Multiple Size Pages Not Supported

InDesign allows you create documents with multiple size pages and/or multiple size Master Pages. Quark does not support multiple page sizes within a single Layout. Thus ID2Q will convert multiple sized paged documents to a single size page using the A-Master Page size for all page sizes.

Items placed on multiple sized pages in InDesign may convert but they will not be in the same physical location on the page in Quark.

ID2Q First Page Left of Spine

QuarkXPress does not support a first page left of the spine unless an even Section Format has been set. QuarkXPress does not support an additional  “slug” area in which case all objects on the pasteboard that are above or below the document page area may not be converted. One solution is to obtain Markzware’s MarkzTools 9 XTension (which contains the Pasteboard XTension) to change the length of the pasteboard to allow the conversion of the objects within the slug area.
