Pub2ID (Publisher to InDesign) Introduction

Pub2ID is a file conversion tool that will enable Adobe InDesign users to convert Microsoft Publisher documents into the native InDesign file format. Markzware Pub2ID will convert all elements of a Publisher document. It is a plug-in for Adobe InDesign that helps you to quickly, easily and affordably convert Microsoft Publisher files to Adobe InDesign files with one click.

Pub2ID translates all the Microsoft Publisher content elements into a new InDesign document. These elements include fonts and styles, text attributes and tables, word wrap, linked text boxes, page size, positioning, color models, and layers. It also automatically extracts embedded images from the Publisher document.

DTP programs have individual ways to render text and represent graphics, so text flow and some graphical elements may not be perfect. Based on usage of techniques such as tracking, leading, custom kerning, graphic formatting and effects, some rework may be necessary. We recommend proofing all converted files before outputting.
