Important Note: While the screen shots in this section shows different Activation Status screens on a Mac, the same screens will appear on Windows versions of Q2ID. Please use this section as a guide as there may be differences in the look and feel of screens due to operating system differences and the version of Q2ID you are activating.
- Q2ID – Successful Activation
- Q2ID Failed Activation – Unable to Activate
- Q2ID – Non-Activated or Expired Product
1. Q2ID – Successful Activation
The very first time you start up InDesign after installing Q2ID, the Plug-In will attempt to contact Markzware’s License Server and activate your product. This should be a fairly transparent process. If the Plug-In is able to contact the License Server, then you will be activated. Screen #1 is a screen that in many cases will flash by so rapidly you will not see it. If you have a slow internet connection or are blocked from getting out to the internet, you will see screen #1.
Normally you will just see screen #2, stating you are activated and Q2ID is ready to go. Click on the Close button to dismiss this screen. At this time you should also have the Q2ID Registration Screen visible. Please fill out the Registration form before starting to use Q2ID.
Should you have any issues with Activation please contact Markzware Tech Support.
2. Q2ID Failed Activation – Unable to Activate
Q2ID uses standard internet ports to try and communicate with the License Server (http- port 80, https – port 443). If you have a slow internet connection or are blocked from internet access due to security issues, the screen below appears and does not go away until you click the Close button. Under standard conditions, the screen should disappear within 30 seconds.
If you encounter this screen and it does not close by itself within a reasonable amount of time, please contact Markzware Tech Support as your product did not properly activate.
3. Q2ID – Non-Activated or Expired Product
Pictured below is a reminder screen to Activate your product. If for any reason Q2ID was unable to reach our License Server, usually you can still run the product for a limited time, but every time you start up InDesign you will be presented with a screen reminding you to take action by a specified date. The below screen is many times the result of Q2ID being blocked by a Proxy Server.
VERY IMPORTANT!!!*—- If you do not Activate Q2ID by the date listed on your screen, *YOU MAY LOSE YOUR LICENSE AND NEED TO REPURCHASE A LICENSE FOR Q2ID.
If you continuously see this window, you need to contact Markzware Tech Support or Sales and get this issue resolved. The grace period for running Q2ID in a non-activated state should be long enough to resolve this issue.
