Auto Open IDML in Affinity Publisher

**This workflow allows you to automatically have your Quark file converted to IDML and opened in Affinity Publisher 1.8 or higher.

Open the Preferences Window and click on Automation

1. Under the “On Document Open: Export” area select IDML
2. Pick a path where you want the IDML file to be saved
3. Under the “On Export” section select “Open in Default Application” and then underneath that select “Always open IDML in” and select Affinity Publisher 1.8 or higher (this will not work with Affinity Publisher 1.7 or earlier) . Manually select Affinity Publisher 1.8 or higher.
4. Also, make sure you uncheck the “Show in Finder” checkbox
5. Make sure and select the “Close Document” checkbox

Now whenever you open a Quark file in QXPMarkz, your file will automatically be converted to IDML and QXPMarkz will open the IDML file in Affinity Publisher version 1.8 or later.

!If you do not have Affinity Publisher version 1.8 or later, this workflow will not work, as Affinity Publisher 1.8 is the first version of Publisher to support IDML files.
