QXPMarkz Inspector Panel - QXPMarkz User Guide - 1

The Inspector Panel is an overview of your document. It displays a mini inventory of what comprises your document.
Each document has its own Inspector Panel Window.

QXPMarkz Inspector Panel

Some features of the Inspector Panel

  • Can be set to show up automatically every time you open a file (found under the General Preferences Tab)
  • Can be opened and closed using Command-I
  • Can be dragged to any location on the screen, but if you drag it onto a second screen it will snap back to the upper middle of the Preview Window.

Following is a breakdown of each section of the Inspector Panel


  1. (ICON) Version of QuarkXPress the file is associated with
  2. Name of the document
  3. Version of QuarkXPress document was last saved with
  4. File Size of the document on disk
  5. Document Creation Date
  6. Document Last Modified Date

  1. Number of Pages
  2. Number of Spreads
  3. Whether document uses Facing or Non-Facing Pages
  4. Dimensions of the Document

  1. How many fonts are used in the job
  2. How many fonts are missing
  3. How many fonts are inactive

  1. Number of colors associated with the document (this includes all colors listed in the color palette as well as un-named colors)
  2. Used – how many colors are detected as being used in the document. Even for blank documents there is usually one color listed.

  1. Total number of images detected in the document
  2. Number of images detected as missing
  3. Number of images detected as embedded (these could be images that were copied and pasted into a document).

  1. Number of Stories detected in the document.
