Here is how to delete preferences in FlightCheck, pre-press software for preflighting, by Markzware. This process can fix many preflight oddities that may be occurring in your design or prepress department. It is as simple as holding down the shift key while starting-up FlightCheck. Watch:
Markzware‘s FlightCheck version 6.90. Today, we’re going to show you how to reset your preferences. How to delete preferences in FlightCheck. This is helpful, if you used an earlier version and are having problems, or if you’re just having some general weirdness going on. You know, the interface might get a little bit gobbled here or there. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, or when something seems wrong, the first thing you should try is this prepress tip here.
So, first what you should do is Quit FlightCheck. Alright, so, how am I doing this? I’m holding down the Shift key and I’m going to restart FlightCheck by double-clicking it, on a Macintosh. You’ll see we get this question: Do you want to delete the preferences? I can now let the shift key off, I can click OK, and it will do it. It’ll take longer this time, because we’ll have to reload the fonts database, or rebuild that prepress feature. And that’s it, and then your FlightCheck should once again…

- and the resulting PDF file.
It makes an automatic switch to PDF specific Ground Controls (FlightCheck eagle screeches). And there, we see we get a nice overview of all the potential prepress problems.
