Markzware Donates Software To RIT

SANTA ANA, California — August 27, 2007 — Markzware (www.markzware.com), the leader in developing quality control solutions for the graphic arts, publishing and printing industries, has donated software to Rochester Institute of Technology‘s School of Print Media and the university’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf.

The software donation, including Q2ID, ID2Q, MarkzTools, and the patented preflight technology, FlightCheck, totals more than $41,000. These tools are vital to the document creation process, allowing students to proof or convert documents from one format to another. The software is also utilized in the prepress process and facilitates a necessary step known as preflighting. Preflighting is reviewing to check documents for potential printing problems and corrupt files.

“We are thrilled Markzware has continued its support of RIT‘s School of Print Media and National Technical Institute for the Deaf,” says Erich Lehman, RIT School of Print Media. “It’s support like this that enables us to provide our students with access to the latest and greatest software in the industry. Markzware’s FlightCheck software will be utilized this fall in the school of Print Media’s Digital Foundations course as well as throughout our pre-media labs.”

Patrick Marchese, president and CEO of Markzware adds: “Markzware has had a long-standing relationship with RIT, and we are pleased to be able to make this donation. RIT’s educational programs help bridge the gap for students that simply don’t know what they don’t know. Preflighting is important, as these students will be responsible for both the creation and quality of documents destined for print. Markzware is proud to be involved with the RIT program.”
