Unveiled at the desktop publishing and printing show, Graph Expo 2004 in Chicago, FlightCheck Studio represents a new concept in quality control for the digital workflow – examining and repairing desktop publishing documents while, rather than after, they’re created.
Markzware FlightCheck Studio is capable of detecting virtually any digital file problem commonly encountered in the printing and desktop publishing workflow. The software prompts the user to set up document specifications known as your “Design policy.” A Design Policy is saved as a file, which is then distributed to any number of designers (or customers) to ensure all documents will comply with the Design Policy, or output specifications. All aspects of the design can be controlled, including style sheets, font usage, images, color space, etc. What a way to ensure quality in your desktop publishing workflow!
Markzware FlightCheck Studio functions like “Spell Check,” finding and correcting design problems while the document is being created. “If, as you’re creating a document, you place an element that goes outside the Design Policy parameter, FlightCheck Studio will warn you, giving you an immediate opportunity to fix the problem,” explains Patrick Marchese, Markzware’s president.
