Resave High-Resolution HD Previews of InDesign Documents
With the Resave HD feature, sharper previews of InDesign text and images can be displayed. Using ID Util does not require you to have Adobe apps on your system, but, if InDesign is installed, you can generate high resolution document previews via ID Util.

InDesign’s standard preferences often cause text to be displayed as gray lines. After running Resave HD, text is usually quite legible.

How to Resave InDesign Documents with High Resolution HD Previews, via ID Util
ID Util’s Resave HD section (below the file version section in the Preview Window) allows you to generate high resolution previews for InDesign files. To use this feature, an appropriate version of InDesign must be active on your computer. The keyboard shortcut for Resave HD feature is Shift + Command + S.
• When viewing an InDesign document’s previews, with InDesign installed, click the “Resave HD” button in the Toolbar. ID Util will attempt to startup the appropriate version of InDesign and create high resolution previews (1024 x 1024 pixels) for all pages in your InDesign document.
• If the resaved document has missing images, click on either the “update links” or “don’t update links” button in the InDesign’s “missing links” message that pops up. ID Util will continue the Resave HD process.
