Do you have InDesign present on your system? Then, you can have the ability to generate high-res previews of your documents through the ID Util for macOS application from Markzware.

How to Resave InDesign Documents with High Resolution HD Previews, via ID Util
• The “Resave HD” feature is located in ID Util’s Preview window, below the file version section. This feature allows you to generate high resolution previews, with an appropriate InDesign version installed and active on your computer.
• When viewing an InDesign document’s previews, with InDesign installed, click the “Resave HD” button in the Toolbar. This will start the process of resaving the current document with previews for all pages, with high image resolution.
ID Util will attempt to start up the appropriate version of InDesign and create high resolution previews (1024 x 1024 pixels) for all pages in your InDesign document. This feature overwrites the original document. Since there is extra preview data involved, the file size will increase.
• Your InDesign file may already be saved with high resolution (1024×1024) previews, but without previews for all pages. To resave your InDesign file with all pages, go into InDesign, set the preview setting to All Pages, and resave your file directly to InDesign. For a file without hi res previews, using the Resave HD feature will add previews of all pages to the file, so the file size is increased. To then shrink the file size, go into InDesign, set previews for a specific number of pages, and resave the file.
• If you run Resave HD on a document that has missing images, InDesign will display a missing links message. To continue with the Resave HD process, switch to InDesign via Command-Tab, cycle through your open apps, and click either the update or don’t update links button.

“The Resave HD option generates high-resolution (what InDesign calls “Extra Large 1024 × 1024”) previews if you have an appropriate version of InDesign installed (CS5 or later).”

These previews are higher resolution than the standard 256 pixels x 256 pixels. Text that appears as blurry gray lines in Adobe InDesign should be legible, after using ID Util’s Resave HD feature.
