SANTA ANA, California, April 6, 2009 — Markzware, the leading developer of patented preflighting technology, data extraction and conversion software today released an upgrade to its highly recommended utility, MarkzTools v8 for QuarkXPress 8. MarkzTools is a Quark XTension that is used to prevent corrupted QuarkXPress documents, along with several other useful features.

In the case of a badly corrupted QuarkXPress file where the page layout data cannot be salvaged, MarkzTools’ Scavenge Text feature may be able to extract text stories from the damaged document to recover QuarkXPress.
The Gray Previews feature allows you to convert your full color picture previews into gray-scale previews; greatly reducing the file size of your saved documents when you recover QuarkXPress.
MarkzTools 8 can save QuarkXPress documents to Quark 6 or Quark 4. It can also enable Quark 8 to export open documents to those versions directly.
