Markzware Launched Pub2ID v1.5 in 2007
SANTA ANA, California, November 29, 2007 — Following a beta-testing program, Markzware announced the worldwide release of Pub2ID v1.5 for Macintosh and Windows.
The original Adobe InDesign plug-in converted Microsoft Publisher 2002–2007 documents into editable Adobe InDesign CS2 and CS3 files.
Converting Publisher Documents Without Retyping Them
Pub2ID was developed to help designers, printers and prepress professionals reuse Publisher content without rebuilding complete documents manually.
“I used a multipage Microsoft Publisher document with a few pictures and lots of text flowing from page to page. The original was a PC file, and I opened it on my Mac G5 in InDesign CS2.
It was such a fast conversion process, and all of the images were automatically linked. The Windows fonts were missing, which was a quick fix. What would have taken hours to retype and set now would only take about 15 minutes to format.”

The Beginning of Publisher-to-InDesign Conversion
The 2007 release marked the beginning of Markzware’s Pub2ID product line. It enabled Microsoft Publisher content to be opened, edited and repurposed in Adobe InDesign while saving substantial production time.
Converted documents still required review for missing fonts, image links, text flow, transparency, colors and layout differences.
Original Pricing and Downloads Are Obsolete
The Pub2ID v1.5 pricing, compatibility requirements, CD-ROM package and download information published in 2007 are no longer valid. Pub2ID is not available for purchase or download.
