Unlock QuarkXPress documents with QXPMarkz®, our next-generation QXP conversion and preview application. Many designers have and receive QuarkXPress files, with no way to open them. This stand-alone application gives you the ability to both preview those files and the power to move those documents to your preferred editing application.
QXPMarkz enables users to convert QuarkXPress 2020 through QuarkXPress 3 to many other file formats!
Often, users have expressed that they need a quick QuarkXPress previewer, not always a full-blown editor. Some have owned QuarkXPress in the past, others occasionally receive QXP files from colleagues. Well, we heard you and are happy to announce a fast and affordable solution!
The previews are based on the internal document data, and is representative of the original document. The text is crisp and zoomable.
QXPMarkz enables you to export QuarkXPress files to numerous non-proprietary file types, including IDML, PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPEG, and GIF. You can also open .QXP files in an earlier version of QuarkXPress or in another application!
Export QuarkXPress and InDesign text stories as RTF, HTML, or plain text (TXT). This is very useful if you need to re-purpose the content of a file but not the layout. Text formatting is maintained in the exported content.
QXPMarkz is designed to make complex tasks quick and easy. Preview your document, then, with a single click, open the file in InDesign, Affinity Publisher, an older version of QuarkXPress* (2017 or newer), other pre-defined applications, or define your own destination application.
Further simplify the process, by configuring the Automation Preferences, to automatically export and open the file, in your chosen application. Double click a QXP file, in Finder, and the document will open in InDesign, Affinity Publisher, an older version of QuarkXPress*, or another application of your choice.
With Automation Preferences, AppleScript support and a Custom URL Scheme, QXPMarkz will have no problem integrating into most automated workflows.
Users who are familiar with our Q2ID InDesign Plug-Ins appreciate the ease of converting QuarkXPress documents, directly, within InDesign. QXPMarkz comes with the same type of integration, allowing users to choose “Open QuarkXPress File…” right from the InDesign File menu. The selected document will be converted by QXPMarkz and opened in InDesign, automating the entire QuarkXPress-to-InDesign file conversion process.

This software is ideal for anyone like me moving from Quark to InDesign. After initial problems due to changing my email address before adding a second year, this is now working very smoothly in InDesign 2021 on Big Sur.
I've just had it about a week and it is doing everything I hoped it would. It has already saved me hours of work and I know going forward it will save me countless more.
Using QXPMarkz to convert QXP files to InDesign is so easy, the conversion is excellent, just needed to open the relevant fonts.
Tech support very helpful and speedy.
Dramatically improves the previous version. Provides a preview of all the information related to the document and allows direct conversion, not only to InDesign, but also to Illustrator and Acrobat. Outstanding!
I've been using this for a few days as I am transitioning from Quark Xpress to InDesign, and have converted a lot of my main documents over, some of them quite complicated.
The conversion is excellent, obviously there are some conversion issues, but these are minimal, and it is prudent to check over converted documents anyway.
This is going to save me so much time, it's invaluable.
It translated quite a complex 48 page book from Quark 9 into ID 2020 in very little time with very little post work required. All images were positioned perfectly. Very pleased with this product.
As an avid InDesign user, and loyal Q2ID subscriber, my first impression was to ask... "Is this going to replace Q2ID?!"
My thoughts are.. it should ! This product encompasses the same Markzware> Convert Quark Express (script) document menu from the application that it always has, and also has a stand alone drag and drop UI, that I have to say.. is pretty awesome! Both methods bring you to the new UI, which details the version of Quark it was created in, the fonts, colors, page sizes, page count, images used an/or missing, etc! All in an easy to interpret interface! Now you can export to InDesign, Publisher, Acrobat and even Illustrator! What is so special about this stand alone application? Even users without the target software can open and basic preview and preflight and export the files to destination! This is huge! I am already a HUGE FAN of the standalone app! 5 Stars Markzware!
