Adobe CS4 plug in, Markzware Pub2ID data conversion solution, helps print shops within the Federal Prison Industry. Pub2ID (Publisher to InDesign) software has been installed at the Colorado Correctional Print shop. Supervisor, Ron Diller has many responsibilities in the correctional print shop, including financial, sales, overseeing the electronic prepress department and teaching vocational classes to the offenders. One thing that helps to run the print shop smoothly was the discovery of Markzware Pub2ID data conversion software to convert Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign.

Diller’s print shop produces a variety of creative projects such as brochures, posters and advertisement fliers. Most of this work is created with Adobe CS4 Creative Suite, so jobs may require him to convert Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign. Diller explains, “I was actually making the change from Quark to InDesign when I discovered the Markzware plugin for Publisher. Working for the State, Microsoft Publisher is used a lot and it has ‘issues’. Converting it to InDesign CS4 is a step forward for quality with these files.”
Pub2ID is a product that Diller would recommend because he no longer has to contact the customer in order to send the support files over. “I was especially impressed that Pub2ID created separate files from the embedded files because the customers don’t know that they need to send the support files so we can color correct them. Now I don’t have to ask my customers to send their picture files so I can color correct them, I just use Pub2ID to convert Publisher to Adobe CS4 saving so much time.”
