How to Open InDesign Files in Other File Formats
To open an InDesign file as QuarkXPress, Affinity Publisher, Acrobat PDF, Illustrator, or an earlier version of InDesign, via IDMarkz:

• Drag & drop your files onto the IDMarkz window, in the “Drag and drop files here” section.
• Click on the icon in the top of the IDMarkz window for the desired file format (InDesign or Quark or Publisher or Acrobat or Illustrator).

To open an InDesign file in Acrobat:

• Drag & drop your files onto the IDMarkz window, in the “Drag and drop files here” section.
• Click on the “Acrobat” icon in the top of the IDMarkz window.
  Acrobat will open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat.
• Drag the Annotate (speech bubble) icon onto the item on which you want to comment.
• Enter your comment and click the “Post” button, in the comment window opened by Acrobat.
• In the Acrobat “File” menu, click “Save”.

To add PDF comments to an InDesign file:

• Open an InDesign CC 2019 or higher file.
• In InDesign’s “PDF Comments” panel, click the “Import PDF Comments” button.
• Select the saved PDF file containing comments. The editable comments will appear in InDesign.
• The InDesign file containing the comments can be opened in CS6, via IDMarkz.

To open an InDesign file in Affinity Publisher:

• Drag & drop your files onto the IDMarkz window, in the “Drag and drop files here” section.
• With Affinity Publisher loaded, click on the “Publisher” icon in the top of the IDMarkz window.
• Click the “Open” button in the “PDF Options” window opened by Publisher, which will assign a profile. The editable InDesign file will open in Publisher. IDMarkz creates a PDF file.

To convert InDesign (as IDML) and open in QuarkXPress 2018 or higher:

• Drag & drop your files onto the IDMarkz window, in the “Drag and drop files here” section.
• Click on the “Quark” icon in the top of the IDMarkz window.
• Click the “OK” button in the “IDML Import” dialog, which QuarkXPress opens. QuarkXPress will convert the IDML file to QuarkXPress, and the editable file opens in QuarkXPress.

To export an InDesign file as IDML, PDF, TIFF, PNG, JPEG or GIF:

• Drag & drop your file onto the IDMarkz window, in the “Drag and drop files here” section.
• Click on Export icon in the top left of the IDMarkz viewing window.
• Select the desired file format.
