The following describes how to install ID2Q (InDesign to QuarkXPress) for QuarkXPress 9 conversion software on the Windows platform. The Installation process for QuarkXPress 8 is the same as for QuarkXPress 9 except the Installer is named differently and where you select to install will need to reflect where QuarkXPress 8 is installed. This article is a guide and not verbatim step-by-step instructions.
ID2Q ZIP File
When you download ID2Q you will receive a ZIP file.
Right-Click on the ZIP file and select “Extract All” from the popup menu.
Make sure you know where to locate the folder created by decompressing the ZIP file as it will be required to complete the installation. IMPORTANT NOTE*** – If you receive a checksum error message when trying to decompress the ID2Q ZIP file, use Windows Explorer to decompress the file, instead of a third party ZIP Utility.
ID2Q Installer and Manual
In the ID2Q Installer folder, you will find the ID2Q Installer for QuarkXPress.
Double-click on the Installer .exe file to begin the Installation process.
**Important Note – MAKE SURE you have a file that ends in .mzcert in this folder, otherwise you will not be able to run ID2Q after installation has completed.
ID2Q Permission or Password
When you first run the ID2Q installer, you may see a User Account Control window.
This window will differ depending on whether you are logged into an Admin or a Non-Admin account.
Click on the Yes button to continue.
For Company Name, type in the name of your Company. If you do not work for a company, you can leave the
default of My Company.
Install this application for: By default “Anyone who uses this computer (all users)” is selected. Unless you want to restrict ID2Q to just your account, leave the default value for all users enabled.
ID2Q Setup Type
Unless instructed by Markzware Tech Support, you should select the Complete install type.
The installer will present a Review window that will show you where the ID2Q XTension will be installed.
ID2Q Installation Complete
Click the Finish button to close the ID2Q Installer. You are now on your way to being able to open InDesign (INDD) files within QuarkXPress (QXP) files.
