ID2Q Conversion Options Window for
InDesign to QuarkXPress Conversion

Markzware‘s Quark XTension, ID2Q has a “Conversion Options” window. This window allows users to customize InDesign to QuarkXPress file conversion:

There are four main sections in the ID2Q Conversion Options window, to customize INDD to QXP document conversion:

1. Text Attributes
2. Picture Previews
3. Post Conversion Options
4. Troubleshooting

ID2Q Conversion Options Window for InDesign to QuarkXPress Conversion

1. The Text Attributes section of the Conversion Options window has options for:

• Use Styles (Convert all text and paragraph attributes for all stories in the document.)
  • Skip Para Styles (Disable Paragraph styles; use only Character Styles.)
  • Skip Text Styles (Disable Text of Character Styles; use only Paragraph Styles.)
• Plain Text (Convert InDesign text but use QuarkXPress’ default attributes for text and paragraph attributes.)
• Empty Box (Convert text boxes by discarding text stories, forming a template document.)

2. The Picture Previews section of the Conversion Options window includes options for:

• Use Picture (Convert all image previews in the document.)
• Gray Preview (Convert picture boxes using simple solid gray previews as image “place holders”.)
• Empty Box (Convert picture boxes by discarding picture previews and their links, forming a template document.)

3. The Post Conversion Options section of the Conversion Options window shows options for:

• Overflowed Text Boxes (Resize a text box in order to eliminate text overflow.)
• Skip Leading Compression (Apply a uniform scaling factor to all leading used within a story.)
• Linked Text Boxes (Unclog a series of linked text containers.)
• Items with Run Around Specified (Adjust QXP file by moving items with Run Around set to a new topmost Layer named “Id2qRunAroundLayer”.)
• Auto Adjust Tables (Use QXP’s Table XTension to apply auto adjust to all the tables in the document.)

4. The Troubleshooting section of the Conversion Options window includes an option to:

• See Live Updates (See the document on your screen, while ID2Q builds it.)

You can also choose “don’t show” Conversion Options, via the checkbox at bottom of window. (Prevent the Conversion Options window from popping up every time you select an InDesign file to convert.)
